How do I install my Solar Powered Sapphire MultiCam?
Learn how to install the Sapphire MultiCam security system with single or double solar panels.
Tip: If leasing the camera and solar, be sure to keep ALL PACKAGING including BOXES AND PALLETS for easy returns.
- Mount the solar panel facing South. Be sure the panel receives full sunlight at all times during the day and avoids trees & buildings.

- Using the two provided band clamps, mount the first easy mount bracket to the pole where you want the top of the solar panel to be.
- Using the chart below, find the appropriate distance between the easy mount brackets for your panel size (single or double). Mount panel at 45 degrees unless instructed otherwise. Mount the second bracket with the provided band clamps.
- Slide the solar panel's top saddle bracket into the easy mount bracket and secure it with four provided bolts. Ensure the lower saddle bracket is set to the pre-set 45° angle and secure it in the lower easy mount bracket with remaining four bolts.
MULTI-PANEL SOLAR SYSTEMS
For multi-panel solar systems, STOP HERE and REPEAT steps 1 - 4 for the secondary solar panel. Be sure one panel doesn't cover the other solar panel. Both panels must be in full sun at all times from dawn to dusk. Even 10% shade coverage can cause panel failure.
5. Mount the Solar Cabinet
With two bolts, remove the hanger bracket from the security cabinet. Use two provided band clamps to secure the hanger mount to the pole where the top of the cabinet will go.
6. Hang the cabinet on the mount and replace bolts. Use one additional band clamp to secure the bottom of the cabinet to the pole.
For single panel solar systems, use the solar power extension cable to plug the solar panel's male/female quick connects & ground wire into the Solar Cabinet. Zip tie loose cables to the pole to keep them secure.
For multi-panel solar systems, connect the Parallel Connectors to the solar cabinet cables to allow multiple panels to be plugged into the Solar Cabinet. Then plug the solar power extension cables of both panels into the Solar Cabinet. Zip tie loose cables to the pole to keep them secure.
A. Bolt the positive main to the positive terminal of Battery 1.
B. Bolt the interconnect cable into the negative terminal of Battery 1. Bolt the other end of the interconnect cable to the positive terminal on Battery 2.
C. Bolt the negative main to the negative terminal of Battery 2.
9. Before mounting the Sapphire MultiCam system, you will need to test functionality. Plug in the MultiCam's solar power cable, then plug the other end into the back port of the Solar Cabinet.
10. Plug in the MultiCam's data cable, then plug the other end into the bottom port of the Solar Cabinet.
11. Open the Solar Cabinet and flip the breakers to the ON position; charge controller reading may vary. Verify functionality via the blue light on the MultiCam system.
12. While the system is powering on, affix the mounting bracket on your pole with two band clamps. This unit should be mounted no more than a height of 20ft.
14. Once confirmed, unplug the solar power and data cables from the MultiCam. Then turn off the breakers.
15. Mount your Sapphire MultiCam System. Hang the MultiCam System on the bracket hooks and secure it with the provided bracket screws.
16. Band clamp to the bottom mounting bracket to the pole.
17. Plug in the solar power and data cables to the MultiCam. Turn the breakers back on.
18. Install additional camera (if applicable) by band clamping the camera to the pole. Placement on the pole will vary depending on jobsite needs.
19. Plug additional cameras into the labelled camera ports located on the bottom of the Sapphire MultiCam.
20. Aim your cameras. Use a T20 torx bit to loosen the screw on the mount and adjust the position as desired. Tighten the screw to secure the camera in place.
